When You’re Too Tired to Fight

My friend Paul had a powerful word of encouragement from a story in 1 Samuel 30.

So this word “exhausted” is big, right? When David went to catch up with the guys that took all the stuff from Ziklag, it said that there were 200 men who were too exhausted to follow David, and they left them with the baggage.
And the 400 went on, and took back all that had been stolen, but the worthless people among them said, “We’re not going to give these guys anything, because they just petered out on us.”
But David carried the heart of the Father. He said, “No, no, no, no! He who stayed with the baggage shall share the same as the guy that went into battle.”
So I just want to declare that if you’re feeling exhausted, or if you feel like, “Man, I didn’t hang in the battle. I failed,” that the Lord says, “No. He who stays with the baggage is going to get the same reward as he who goes into battle.”
I release that discouragement off you, and all the worthless enemy lies, in Jesus’ name. The lies that would say, “I blew it. I’m not qualified anymore.”
The Lord still says, “No. David my servant made a rule. You’re qualified.”
