The Secret Place, Part 2
Sherrie Moore discovered she could bring an entire room into the secret place.
Sherrie Moore, who started the Richmond International House of Prayer, was talking about the secret place at a conference. (Part 1 here: https://blog.makeprayerbeautiful.com/the-secret-place-part-1/)
I was once about to do an exorcism. I had a normal procedure for exorcism, but on that particular day, I suddenly stood up and said to the seven or eight of us in the room, “I bring you all into the secret place.”
And instantly the woman started to manifest. So we did the exorcism.
But I thought, “Huh. Did that just happen? Can I pull an entire room into the secret place?”
Some time later, I was in Egypt, and I prayed that same prayer, that we would be brought into the secret place, over our gathering.
The young woman next to me just went down. And you know how, when someone is resting in the Spirit, they are heavy, but not really heavy? This young woman was heavy. An absolute dead weight.
I said, “I think this is a spirit of witchcraft! I think someone has put a curse on her, so she goes into a trance and can’t participate in what we’re doing.”
So I renounced that spirit, and she immediately sat up and yelled triumphantly.
We can make an entire room the secret place.
Thanks be to God.
Lord, I know when I first heard this, I found it powerful and exciting, but also difficult to believe.
Thank you for all the ways your people have learned to resist the works of the enemy.
Lord, may we crave your work in our lives in greater measure. We cry out for it. May we walk before you in righteousness and peace this day and every day. In the name of Jesus, amen.
The weapons we use for the fight are not merely human; they carry a power from God that can tear down fortresses! Thank you, God!

P.S. One of my friends from the Writer’s Workshop in June was published in Christianity Today! Andrew Berg wrote a marvelous article on room-sharing, or house-sharing. When we had spare rooms, back in Boulder, this was one of our delights, so we are all for this. Great concept! I encourage you to read it!
You are invited! Sign up for the Prayer Refresh, an email series with short prayers to pray as you go about your day. The first five readers all wrote me at different times and said, “This is changing my life.”
