Pulled Into the Potato Harvester, But Came Out Unharmed

The very day I felt compelled to pray for the harvest crew’s safety, a farm manager was pulled into the potato harvester—then walked away unharmed.

One of our clients, owner of one of the largest family-owned organic farms in the country, was harvesting potatoes.

From my own family’s limited experience farming, I know that even the safest farms can be hazardous, with unpredictable natural forces and large-scale equipment.

In the fall of 2020, I felt suddenly compelled to pray for safety for this client and their team during the harvest season.

I recorded my prayer and sent it to the client without giving it much thought.

A couple of weeks later, this client shared that around the time that I had prayed for their safety—the very day—the farm manager got his arms stuck in the potato chain harvester.

He told me later, “It should have taken my head off. My arms were stuck in the potato chain harvester and I was levitating off the ground. The machine was pulling me in.”

Several farmhands witnessed this horrific experience … but then he somehow, miraculously, came free.

Unharmed.

When I visited the farm later to pray for the team, many of them allowed me to pray for them. They had seen the power of God that day and were ready for a move of God in their own lives.

Thanks be to God.

May we live for the praise of his glory,

Amy Joy
