Is God Doing Something New in You?
A blessing from Isaiah 43 for anyone in a hard season: forget the former things; he's already making the way.
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. (Isaiah 43:18-19)
The word for today is new thing.
The Lord proclaims over you the blessing:
Forget about what’s happened in the past. Don’t keep going over old histories of the “should haves, could haves,” for I am doing a new work today.
So be alert, be present; I am doing something new in you.
It’s going to burst forth. It’s going to be like a road in the desert.
So watch closely.
I’m preparing something new. It’s happening.
Even as you read, even as you listen, I’m preparing a way. I am doing a new thing. Will you perceive it? I am doing a new work among you. Can you see the pathway?
Listen carefully. I am doing a new thing. It will spring forth. Open your eyes to see it. I am putting a new road in your life. I am doing a new thing. It’s going to sprout out. So be looking for it. I’m going to make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. I’m creating something new for you. There it is. Open your eyes and you see it.
Watch for the new thing. Listen carefully. Look and listen, for it’s happening. You can see it if you perceive it. I will make the way for you.
It is a new day for you. A new season. A new strength and a new power is coming upon you. Turn the page, for I am doing something new in you.
