Hearing from God in Business

On intuition, discernment, and hearing the Lord in a business context.

In 2019, I met marketing expert Perry Marshall. I asked him a bunch of questions about how to hear from God: “Do you always hear correctly? And if not, what happens if you don’t? Does that make you a false prophet?”

I had so many questions about how to incorporate more listening to the Lord in my daily life.

A few years later, he published Memos from the Head Office, full of instructions on how to manage their intuition, gut feelings, or whatever they call the flickers of thought that come to mind.

One of my favorite thoughts comes on p. 39:

I have never found the Head Office to be a substitute for:

• Discipline

• Research

• Finding and cultivating friendships

• Accurate numbers and figures

• Testing and experimentation

• Healthy habits and lifestyles

• Developing your talents and skills

Nothing of the sort! Memos are a catalyst for all of the above. To think otherwise is to abdicate your own responsibility for your life.

If you would like to know more about how to hear from the Lord, especially in a business context, Perry’s book Memos from the Head Office is a great resource.

Perry is also a client, and he features two additional Workplace Prayer clients in his book (not because we planned it that way, but I was delighted!).

It’s an honor to serve the body of Christ.

Pray on every occasion in the Spirit, with every type of prayer and intercession,
