God Finds Lost Things (Even at TSA)

We keep praying, “Miracles, Miracles, Miracles." Here's a small, fun one to grow our faith.

Bob’s theme for this Pursue fast has been “Miracles, Miracles, Miracles,” and here is a happy one!

Cortney was traveling this week (hence, no music on Monday), and sent me this amazing testimony on Thursday morning.

I have been joyfully looking up one stone a day from the kit that you sent me and I opened the turquoise on Monday when I was flying from Milwaukee to Tampa.
As I was walking through security I realized the stone was in my pocket, so I put it in the bin along with my backpack, which was going through the conveyor belt. I made a mental note to take it back after walking through, but as you might expect, I completely forgot about it until later.
I was so annoyed with myself!
But also a main value of my fast this month is to release things to the Lord.
So I endeavored to do that and even had the thought that maybe finding that faux turquoise would bring joy to someone else at some point! God bless them and make it a delightful surprise for a stranger.
Well, cut to just a moment ago, when I fished around in the bottom of my backpack and found ... the missing turquoise!
How did that even happen? I keep replaying it in my mind, and I'm really sure that is impossible.
What a beautiful picture of the concept of pursuit. Here I am making an effort to pursue more of God by releasing the things that are outside my control.
And he very firmly actually brings this one thing back to me! I am floored.
Praise God for his power and inexplicable blessings. More of you, Lord! Thank you!

Amazing!

I have been collecting, in a way, stories like this. Dan McCollam has a whole book called Finding Lost Things, and he has several similar examples where there is no reason in the natural this would have happened.

In one of them, a woman lost her money belt while traveling in Israel. They searched the tour bus three times and then everyone got off for lunch, when the Lord said, “Go check again.”

And there was the money belt, sitting on the floor of the bus in plain sight.

Lord, didn’t we look here? Surely we did!

And he said something like, “I know. I sent an angel to come and replace what you lost. The angel knew where it was, and was happy to deliver it to you.”

This has been a strong theme at the end of this week—my podcasts yesterday and today also deal with finding lost things.

Lord, you are a good God. Thank you. Continue to do the work of restoration—many of us are still waiting. Amen.

To him be the glory, in the church, and in King Jesus, to all generations, and to the ages of ages,

Amy Joy
