After Blessing the Land, the Corn Grew Miraculously Large
Corn usually has 12–14 rows. After this fourth-generation farmer blessed his land, he harvested ears with 20 rows—unheard of.
Our client Kristopher, a fourth-generation farmer, started to pray God’s blessing over his land.
An ear of corn usually has 12 to 14 rows around the perimeter. Kris had occasionally seen an ear with as many as 16 or 18.
But after he started to bless his land, when it was time to harvest, he found ears of corn with 20 rows.
He asked his dad, and his dad, too, had never seen anything like this.
I had been hearing about this story for six months. Kris first shared it in October 2022 in Indiana, and I heard about it in DC, and again in Atlanta in the spring of 2023. Friends would come up to me at a lunch break and say, “Did you see that corn? I didn’t think it was real!”
But I was always out of the room.
Finally, though, I was at an event in DC, and one of those blessed ears of corn was on a table.
For several days, especially during worship, I would pick up the ear of corn, hold it, let it run through my fingers.
I thought about how Kristopher didn’t have to plant more corn in order to get more product.
He had a supernatural increase with no extra effort.
Then I started thinking about how farmers like to save the best seed. And this corn has been adjusted on the genetic level. It has the possibility for 20 rows, not just 12 or 14.
That would be the corn to plant.
But if Kristopher had taken all those 20-row ears of corn, it would have been too much for him to plant for his farm alone.
That corn would have to spread around, so that the other farms also received a blessing.
This is what God’s kingdom does. It’s not just for us to get the blessing.
No. We get the blessing, and then those around us get to share it.
This is part of what makes us absolutely thrilled to pray for businesses.
