A Blessing and Commissioning for the Giant-Slayers

Workplace Prayer client Paul Van Hoesen once prayed this powerful prayer of commissioning.

This is a calling to anybody who’s vibrating right now with an area of authority that you know—you absolutely know—that God has called you to this area. It may be your community. It may be a specific area of society, a specific giant, but you’re carrying the authority.
So right now, Lord, we commission the giant-slayers to go forth, and we declare heaven come down to this place. Come in. Anoint them, Lord.
I pray for the anointing to fall upon them because they are carrying your authority. I pray for that sense of authority right now to come rest in their hearts, and for the confidence of God to rise up.
Rise up in the name of Jesus, that inner drive to go, “Yes! We can take this down! We are well able to do it.”
Like Joshua said, “We are well able to take the land.”
And so we declare that this day, Lord, that you have created us to take the land.
In 1 Chronicles 14:1, we read: “Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.” He helped and supported David, and Solomon after him. And, Lord, now I ask you for the Hirams to come up.
I ask for the Hirams who can say, “Hey, I know how to do that. I know what this should look like. I can come alongside you. I can give you the resources to make that happen.”
Lord, we pray for the Hirams also to rise up, and that there would be a community of equipping and commissioning, that you would give us the frameworks, the systems, the money, everything we need to bring forth the giants in this room to slay the giants out there.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
