And what God's been highlighting to me for the last couple of months, is that when people would encounter me personally, that their one overwhelming thought would be, “That man is marked by the presence of God.” I think about how the disciples, early in their ministry, when they were taken before some of the religious people, scripture says, “They took note that these men had been with Jesus,” even though they were uneducated and unlearned, which I can identify a lot with. But the characteristic was that these men had been with Jesus. I want to pray out of Exodus 33:14-16 (NLT), a short conversation that Moses was having with God, that emphasizes the absolute importance of God's presence, being on us, with us, in us, and through us, as we lead in any capacity in whatever we're in today. *The Lord told Moses, he said, “I will personally go with you, Moses, and I will give you rest—everything will be fine for you.” Then Moses said, “If you don't personally go with us, don't make us leave this place. How will anyone know that you look favorably on me—on me and on your people—if you don't go with us? For your presence among us sets your people and me apart from all other people on the earth.”* *Father, this morning I thank you, first of all that you trust us enough to place your presence on our lives, on our homes, on our businesses, and on our families.* *I thank you for the incredible provision you've made through the work of Christ that we can become carriers and hosts of your presence.* *Father, I lift each person to you this morning, in the spheres of influence that they touch and lead and walk in.* *Father, as we encounter people today and in the weeks ahead, may we be people who are marked by your presence. Father, may we be marked by your favor, and generosity, and love, and the wisdom that brings solutions that are simple and yet profound.* *May those around us encounter your presence through the way that we unconditionally love and forgive and work to be peacemakers.* *Father, I ask for upgrades of your presence on each one of us, and that mentally, emotionally, and spiritually that we would have a real increase in awareness of your presence on our lives. May we steward your presence intentionally and carefully.* *We trust that your presence in our lives makes a difference, that it gives us what we don't have in ourselves, and provides unusual abilities and solutions and favor as we lead, as we serve, as we minister … in whatever it is that we're involved in today, all across the world.* *Let your presence be the difference-maker upon each one of us.* *In Jesus’ name, amen.* --- It’s possible for all of us, too!
